Angelica hendersonii, Coast Angelica

Out of stock

Found in nature on the immediate coast, though well adapted to the watered inland garden, Angelica hendersonii is native to the west coast of the US where it grows in the coastal sage scrub. It is a taprooted perennial herb and has the overall look of cow parsnip with creamy white flowers in umbels 3 feet above a mound of evergreen compound leaves with toothed edges and white woolly undersides. Like many umbels, it is a good nectar source for beneficial insects. Takes full sun to light shade and prefers good drainage with moderate summer water.
