Aquilegia eximia, Serpentine Columbine

A perennial herb with tall reddish orange flowers atop a mound of attractive leaves. Can get 5 ft overall but it’s very lacy and doesn’t shade other plants. Native to the moist forests of the Coast Ranges. Blooms spring to summer. Needs shade or part shade and moisture. Often found in serpentine soil but also does well in clay loam. Beautiful in a woodland garden.
