Artemisia pycnocephala ‘David’s Choice’, David’s Choice Sagebrush

Out of stock

David’s Choice Sagebrush is an exceptionally fine selection of a coastal native Artemisia, selected from native sagebrush at Point Reyes. It forms a dense silky mound of silvery foliage about 1 to 2 ft. tall and wide. The flowering stems rise a foot above the foliage and are interesting but not showy. Shear back for longer life. Sun and drought tolerant.

This drought-adapted plant thrives in well-drained, sandy soils and prefers coastal conditions, though it can handle partial shade inland. While its yellow flowers are inconspicuous, they can be trimmed back to maintain its neat, rounded form.

David’s Choice Sagebrush is an excellent choice for borders or as a groundcover, providing a dense mound of beautiful foliage and a striking contrast to darker green plants like Ceanothus or low-growing Iris. It also offers forage for wildlife, contributing to a healthy garden ecosystem. Deer resistant.
