Epilobium canum ‘Sierra Salmon’, Sierra Salmon California Fuchsia

$8.50

A horticultural selection from the straight species of Epilobium canum. Sierra Salmon CA Fuchsia has narrow blue-gray leaves and produces profuse salmon-colored flowers in late summer and fall when many other flowering natives are dormant. Upright growing from 8″-2′ tall and equally wide. Plant on slight slopes among rocks, in dry streambeds, against rock walls or in rock gardens. Good for erosion control and fall color.

They are beloved by hummingbirds and an important late-summer hummingbird food source. We recommend cutting California Fuchsia back very hard in the late fall ready for a flush of new growth in the spring. Tolerates almost any soil type. It will spread by rhizomes, colonizing an area and mingling with other perennial and shrubs. Prefers sun in coastal sites, and sun or part shade in inland sites. Selected for the garden.
