A new selection of the native Idaho Fescue from the Berkeley Botanic Garden, notable for its remarkable spruce-blue foliage. It features dense bunches of lovely chalky blue leaf blades 10 to 12 inches tall with tan seedheads rising up to 12 inches above the foliage. The thin leaves are much longer than the more familiar Festuca glauca, giving Festuca idahoensis ‘Siskiyou Blue’ a softer, more graceful look.
Give it sun or light shade in cooler climates; Protect from the hot afternoon sun in warmer areas. Good with moderate to occasional irrigation. It is deer resistant, evergreen, and very effective in mass plantings or containers.
