Penstemon heterophyllus ‘GMR White’, White Foothill Penstemon

A great addition to a perennial border as it blooms heavily for weeks. Foliage is very fine and the tubular flowers start out as yellow buds that open to white trumpets. It gets about 2 feet high and 3 feet across. Grows in a distinctly different, more upright form than standard Foothill Penstemon which tends to stay low and wide. Be sure to cut off flower stalks for more blooms but in late summer leave some to go to seed for the birds. If it doesn’t get regular water it will go dormant.
