This ribes cultivar is distinctive for its extra long, pendulous racemes of deep pink flowers with white centers. A Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden selection of the pink-flowered currant, it is particularly vigorous, featuring abundant floral displays in spring. It will attain a height and spread of 6 to 8 ft over time. Best with light shade and a little summer water; Drought tolerant once established. A showy shrub that tolerates almost any soil type. Our native currants provide an important early nectar source for bumblebees and hummingbirds. The resulting black berries attract many birds, including grosbeak and mockingbirds.
