Clinopodium douglasii, Yerba Buena

$8.50

Yerba Buena is a creeping perennial herb that is highly useful as a shade groundcover. It has tiny white flowers and glossy evergreen leaves on very slender stems that creep along the ground. It does not have rhizomes but roots itself as it spreads. The leaves and flowers have a lovely fragrance and leaves can be made into a refreshing tea. It has a nice cascading habit that looks good on a rock wall in shade.

It gets about 5–7 inches tall and 3 feet wide, sometimes more. Takes low water, full or part shade. An idea choice under shrubs or for hanging baskets.

You may know it under the old name of Satureja douglasii.
